This is an image I made for the Legolas Aragorn Slash Yahoo group to celebrate Viggo’s birthday. Yes, I know it is a day late, but I thought it was worth it to get this picture as good as I can. I’ve chosen a face that for me highlights Viggo’s immense skill as an actor, and his compassion for those he plays. The nakedness is more about Viggo’s skill to bare Aragorn’s soul than beauty and eroticism, although these are definitely part of the image.

This is Aragorn a little younger than we see him in the movies. He is just beginning to feel the weight of his destiny as Elessar, and the sorrow this will bring to his life. The scars and bruising to his sword hand are hinting at the wounds yet to come, while the sorrow in his eyes reflects the bitter choices ahead of him.

Just to let you know some of the changes I have needed to make to the base photos: I’ve added the carved paneling behind Aragorn, the panel behind the curtain, and the view of Rivendell through the window; altered his hair to match the pose, alter the lighting and replace missing parts; added the beard stubble to the neck; added the old scars and recent bruising to his right hand.

This is my entry for the Adult Orlando challenge to make a banner of Orli involving some supernatural theme. I started this over six weeks ago, and it’s another one that went on hold when I wasn’t well. It was supposed to be ready last month *hangs head in shame* I'm sorry it's late and a bit rushed, so please forgive me for the more serious flaws and imperfections.

This is a final version – I’ve got too many other projects unfinished and I needed to post the entry.

The background is a montage of a sea with a moon-path, a couple of great star brushes from http://www.amaranthdreams.com and a moon brush from deviant art.

I've made two versions - a 800 x 300 pixel banner, and a 1024 x 768 wallpaper version.

This pic has been a bit of a marathon. I started it as a standard weekly challenge, but somehow it ended up being more challenging than most. It’s taken six months to finish – what with working on it and taking a break from it when I got stuck or frustrated and working on it some more. It’s been too complicated to explain how complicated it was … if that makes sense. To give you a hint the final image had over 20 layers … and that did not include any of the separate layers involved in building up the background! I have 35 different versions of it saved as full PSDs or PNGs, each representing a significant step in the process. I wasn’t just being a masochist – each element seemed just so right that I just HAD to do the work.

I’ve included a collage of the base images I used to let you see how much I’ve had to do. As you can see the background had very little floor and was also missing parts of barrels, wall etc … and all of this had to be added. The jeans and belt had to be totally reconstructed as hobbit clothing. The feet needed resizing, and repositioning to match the angles of the knees, plus some considerable fiddling of the somewhat dodgy anatomy (these were NOT movie stills, but taken from a costume site). All this as well as the usual problems of matching lighting, colour, and texture. Then it became obvious he needed to be hot and sweaty, to explain the nearly naked pose – so I’ve had to add the sheen of sweat plus a few droplets and runnels as well.

So here he is – putting the lie to Merry’s claim he’s never done a hard day’s work. Pippin’s been toiling in the barn and he’s stopped for a breather, slipped off his shirt, undone his belt and lowered his trousers to get just that bit cooler. The drowsiness of the hot, dusty barn and the weariness of his body have sent him into a day dream of the past – he’s far, far away. The wistful, almost sad smile and look in his eyes hints at where he is, and who he’s with.

Many, many thanks to all of the people who've sent me messages or posted - it really helped. My brain is back to it's usual slightly disfunctional but not too bad state, and I can use a mouse fine. My typing is still a bit limited as I need to rest my forearm on a support a lot ... which is okay with a mouse but not a keyboard.

I'll be posting a new image tomorrow ... honest ... but for now I'm just trying to catch up a bit.

I’m sorry I’ve not been online recently. My illness has been playing up a bit. I’ve been a bit spaced on medication, and also my right hand has been very weak and clumsy. I can only do things when the wrist isn’t supported (like typing) for just a few minutes. I also haven’t been able to be accurate enough driving my mouse to do any photo-shopping. Today it isn’t so bad, but I have a HUGE mountain of emails and posts to try and sort out. I know I won’t be able to get through all of them yet … but hopefully I’ll keep improving so I can write more and more each day.

I've been doing some work for The Green Daron @ http://community.livejournal.com/lotrgreendragon/ making some screen caps of Elijah Woodfrom Sin City. It was good to see Elijah in a role that allowed him to break out of the "nice-guy" type casting. He was realyl good at being really evil!

Anyway I've made a series of 11 highish resolution screen captures, and also an animated icon. I adapted the colouring and lighting on one of the caps, especially round the eyes, and produced a desktop wallpaper as well. This is an image made from one of my own screen caps. This one was one of the trickiest to capture without blurring, but that ducked head and gorgeous smile made the effort totally worth while. I loved this background – even if it did mean I had to build missing bits of neck and cliff. The totally relaxed pose matches that smile so well, and the scenery is very similar to the rocky cliffs of Greece that feature in the movie.

I’ve included a montage of the bases I’ve used so you can get an idea of what I’ve done. It may look very simple – but believe me matching the lighting, texture and colouring was a very long job!

This time it’s Billy who gets the treatment – and he’s a demon. The base photo was in black and white, and a little too thin in the shoulders for Billy, but I just could not resist it. Bulking out the shoulders and adding colour was just the start of it! I’ve attached a collage of the bases I used so you can get some idea of what I’ve done to build the final image. I needed a tacky, scruffy head piece to match the dirty and obviously false wings in the Dom pic, but I couldn’t find one, and had to build my own. I nabbed the horns from a cheap and nasty devil mask, adjusted them for lighting and perspective and created a velvet Alice band to hold them in place.

I knew I was going to get asked for one, so I’ve added an icon version as well.

After a lot of hunting around I just couldn’t find an active adult community for those who are fans of the hobbits and/or the men who play them. There are a lot of us adult fans out there. Many of us are fans of the delightful males from the LOTR movies, and some of us are special fans of the hobbits. So I decided it was about bloody time us hobbit pervs and fanciers had a sandpit to play in, and Bandwench and I went ahead and built one.

The Green Dragon Inn is a live journal community for sharing all sorts of material about the four hobbits and the men who play them. It’s a place to share photos, news and links as well as fan fiction and fan art of all kinds, including manips. We want it to be a place where people feel free to share adult material. Sex, nudity, slash, het … we love it all! Posts don’t have to be naughty, but we hope a lot of them will be *evil grin*

So come down to our pub, poke your nose in, have a drink and join the party

This was a long and difficult image to make. I’ve been working on it for over two months now. I found it very difficult to get just the right base body for Orli – and when I finally found one it was very, very hard to match the lighting and texture on Viggo’s body. I loved the combination of sharp focus with grain and really soft lighting in the base I used for Viggo, but it was a right cow to match! Both faces had to have new highlights and shadows added to match the lighting scheme.

It was also difficult to find the right backing. Originally I tried to put Orli in a bed, but it just didn’t work. I needed sky behind Viggo – and sky with cloud so he could be both backlit and side lit in that soft and pearly way. I hunted for a photo of a beach with the sand close enough to the camera to allow me to pile it up around Orli, and dig his elbows in.

The wings come from a photo of a single wing which has been much altered in order to make them slightly asymmetrical, and to give me the angle I wanted. I’ve made the light shine through the wing on our right, in order to suit the backlighting on Viggo’s body.

A lot of me went into this one – lots of effort and lots of emotion as well. Many, many thanks to the ladies at Thalassa’s Manipulations for their help and support in the later stages.

I was merrily customising the look of a new community I'm building (and yes I'll let you know all about it when it's ready) and pushed the wrong button. Hey presto, all my carefully made scheme for this journal vanishes. I decided to use this opportunity to change the scheme - add a banner and move it away from the greens as I'm using thos colours in the other community.

So we've gone all blues and violet-tinged greys. As I'm such a fan of blues music it seemed rather appropriate *grins*

This is another image made from one of my screen captures – this time from “A Walk On The Moon.” I loved the combination of beauty, sensuality, sexiness and sheer fun in this particular scene, and tried to capture the same mood with Orli instead of the woman.

The title has several layers – the waterfall is a plunge, the lovers have leapt off the high rocks to get to this secluded place, they have immersed themselves in water … and they have taken the plunge into a new and powerful love that could sweep them under or even drown them.

I’ve included a small version of the base pictures to let you get an idea of my starting point. I needed to alter the lighting on Orli’s face as well as the colour. I’ve painted in new hair to make the hair hang free rather than tied back, to darken it so it seems wet and blends in with the hair on the shoulder. I’ve also added droplets of various types to Orli’s face, and given it some movement as well. The head is in a different position, so I’ve moved the arm, shoulder and collarbone to match the new neck position. Last but definitely not least I’ve made the hands and wrists more masculine – thicker wrists and fingers; a more square shape to the hand; square and blunter nails; and more prominent knuckles and wrist bones.

I know there are a fair few Elijah fans out there, but I just haven't been able to find an adult Elijah group or community that isn't totally dead. Does anyone know of one? If there isn't one would anyone be interested in joining a new group - and should it be a Yahoo group or a live journal?

You may, if you choose, answer all the questions except the last one ... that was purely rhetorical!

This was a gloriously fun base and despite the fact it was a little poor in quality I thought it would be simple to turn it into a Viggo/Orli pic. I was wrong … I’ve been through the entire process with three different heads for each figure, and used numerous tricks to deal with the flaws in the base, including adding a little movement to the legs. I had a lot of help from the wonderful ladies at Thalassa’s Manipulations

It isn’t perfect but it’s acceptable and it’s still fun. I hope it makes you smile.

This image began as the theme of Frodo on a dragon. Tolkien dragons are evil, and this one looks especially evil so it made me think about who, and what Frodo would have become if he kept the ring. When Peter Jackson was planning to have Aragorn fight Sauron he was going to make Sauron a beautiful young male – much like the idea of Lucifer as a fallen angel. I think this is how Frodo would have been – he would have kept his youth and his male beauty while the increasing evil would have been hidden underneath.

I confess I don’t know who painted this amazing dragon. He was part of my collection of fantasy paintings. I’ve only altered the neck – making it wider and more distinct in order to give my dark lord something to kneel upon. Frodo comes form the image of him looking at the ring after Gandalf throws in into the fire at Bag End. I’ve painted in extra hair to replace the top of his head which PJ had sliced off (his usual trick). The background stared as a screen shot from a screen saver, which I have trimmed and blended.
